The J3U chassis can support any module in the J3U family. These modules run from IF,L/ /C/X/Ku/DBS and Ka-Bands as well Ethernet/ SNMP and TTL signals. Both the 1u J-series and J3U supports hot swappable J modules. The module family contains optical transmitters/receivers/transceivers, power supplies, CWDM/DWDM, RF conditioning (attenuators, combiners ), GbE stitch with full SNMP and web server capabilities.
Complex alarm functions are available for each transmitter and receiver via a micro USB connector in the front and rear panel of the J3U-Chassis. Front panel LED indicators provide visual status to monitor each of the inserted module’s operation. Also, individual and the cumulative link status may be read with granularity down to individual parameters (e.g. received power, temperature, etc.) The USB connectivity enables up to 128 chassis each with 10 modules, each module with up to eight individual Tx or Rx can be monitored via single USB computer interface.
The fans are operated to maintain a customer-set maximum temperature. Dual supplies are recommended for 16- Slot version for redundancy.
All the J3U-Chassis power supplies (medical equipment grade) are hot-swappable and modular. Installing two (2) into a chassis provides redundancy.
Number of power supplies can be up to 4, each with 100Watts in true current sharing mode. This feature is suitable for N+1 redundant systems or high current applications where two or more power supplies are paralleled.
Current sharing is achieved through a single wire connection (share bus) common to all of the paralleled modules. n + 1 redundancy, current sharing results in easier power system design and greater reliability. Our J3U is designed for power of up to 400W applications with full redundancy. Actual power can be tailored for the application to save money. Specially designed N+1 redundancy assures seamless operation. It allows powering from different AC sources for increased source redundancy.

1:1 Optical Zonus 1:1 Redundancy System is optimized to perform from 20 MHz to 6 GHz frequency range. The system supports both 50 ohm and 75 ohm redundancy applications for 1×1 redundant configurations when integrated with Optical Zonus RF fiber optic transmitters and receivers.
Even though the RF Splitter is a passive device it has a unit identifier so the SNMP management system can recognize it.
1:N Optical Zonus 1:N Redundancy System is optimized to perform in 1:2 and 1:4 system from 20 MHz to 6 GHz frequency range. This feature simulate standard RF architecture for 1:2 and 1:4 redundancy allowing for a single Transmitter or Receive to back-up the system. Optical Zonus redundant system also employs both optical and RF redundancy thus eliminating the need for a dedicated communication link between the chassis’ in the event of a unit failure. The system supports both 50 ohm and 75 ohm redundancy applications for 1xN redundant configurations when integrated with Optical Zonus RF fiber optic transmitters and receivers.

Optical Zonus Site Diversity System allows for Fiber path redundancy with protection by monitoring the incoming optical power at the receive end switch. Switching will only occur at a present optical input and not just a complete loss of optical signal. This serves a path monitoring tool so the choice to manually switch to the back-up fiber path so maintenance can be performed on the primary path during a scheduled maintenance window.
